The School Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in collaboration with the Pontifical Institute of Spirituality of the Pontifical University Antonianum (Istituto Francescano di Spiritualita della Pontificia Universita Antonianum) Rome organized a number of years international symposia, which take place alternately in several Italian cities and Greece.
The general theme of these symposia are: Spirituality in the tradition of Eastern and Western Churches.

These symposiums are aimed at rapprochement between Eastern and Western Church in the scientific and factual investigation of the events of spirituality and the influence they exercised over various aspects of ecclesiastical life of the two major Christian traditions.
Participating scientists from Greece and various countries in Europe, and important personalities of the Vatican church and the Ecumenical Patriarchate. Both the international academic community and the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Vatican attaches to this important symposium, and is that even in times of disruption of the theological dialogue between Eastern and Western Church continued and continues uninterrupted effort of rapprochement between the two major cultural traditions of Europe.
